Literature Review on Death Penalty - 1028 Words

Do You Agree With The Death Penalty? Abstract The main focus on this literature review paper is going to be over â€Å"Do you agree with the death penalty?†. I gathered information by asking a series of questions of other individuals. Some of the questions I asked was, â€Å"Do you think the death penalty is a deterrent from a crime?†, and â€Å"How should the death penalty be administered?† My goal is to find out how many people agree or disagree with the death penalty, and why. This will be a good opportunity to view this topic from many different aspects, considering each person will have their own reasons and their beliefs. This is a good qualitative question because I’m gather people’s opinions on a topic that has a lot of mixed†¦show more content†¦The information gathered were from both male and females 18 years or older. There were no restrictions on who could or could not participate in the survey. Each person answered the questions based on their own thoughts, b eliefs, and feelings toward the main focal point of the survey. The questions asked on the survey were: †¢ What is the first thing that comes to mind when you hear death penalty? †¢ Do you think the death penalty is a deterrent from crime? If so why? †¢ What crime(s) do you believe would warrant the death penalty? †¢ How should the death penalty be administered? Why? †¢ Who should be allowed to witness the death penalty as it is being administered? †¢ Should the death penalty be continued as a form of punishment? If yes, why? If no, why? I wanted to find people willing to give their views on the death penalty. Everyone has an opinion on the death penalty and what they believe. Discussion As I gathered all the information from the surveys, surprisingly all the participants were opposed to capital punishment, and had similar beliefs. When asked if the death penalty should be continued as a form of punishment, all the participants had the same answer. â€Å"No.† They all agreed that the most suitable form of punishment was life behind bars. The answers I received from the participants were, â€Å"Revenge shouldn’t be a punishment.
